Brake disc and drum skimming
Brake Disc And Drum Skimming
Improve braking performance on your vehicle – increasing safety whilst driving.
Will stop the vehicles brake pedal pulsing, juddering plus any squeaks and squeals due to misalignment.
Provided they are not below the minimum thickness limit you can save money on your vehicle service due to the fact you do not have to purchase new disc or drums.
Some More Information on Brake Disc And Drum Skimming
The process works on all types of metal discs and drums. Solid, vented, drilled and grooved, front and rear on all vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
If the brake pedal pulses when braking there can be several causes. Uneven wear of brake discs, very slight mis-alignment of the discs or the vehicle hubs. Or if the vehicle has been stood the brake pad could have even rusted to the discs!
The machining process on a brake lathe will overcome this problem by milling the disc back to its true.
At LDS Engineering we can offer a drop off service to customers if you are local to Surrey or Hampshire border. A mail order service for customers if you are further afield, just send us your discs or drums to be machined and we will courier them back to you.
